The Umbraco Community Teams

Community Teams bridge the gap between Umbraco HQ and the wider community. Joining a team is a great way to connect with fellow community members while fostering a space for collaboration. By working directly with HQ, you can make a meaningful impact and help shape the future of Umbraco.

Deadline: June 19, 2026

This year, the Security & Privacy Community Team is shifting its focus toward the practical, everyday operations of running Umbraco. We want to move beyond abstract policies to discuss real-world scenarios, live server challenges, and the hands-on experiences that help us all become better developers.

FAQ about Community Teams

Explore the Community Teams' individual pages to see where you can make an impact and how to join. When Community Teams are looking for new applicants, it will also be announced in a community blog post.

Community Teams are generally led by Umbraco HQ, meaning an HQ employee acts as a Steward. They work closely with the team to provide guidance and support.

All Community Team members must abide by the Community Teams Agreement.

Community members get access to some pretty cool benefits:

Digital Badges: Flaunt your contribution on your email signature.

HQ Access: You can get access to use our working facilities at Umbraco HQ to collaborate with the HQ teams.

Support of advocacy initiatives - In some instances we can help pay travel expenses for you to do a talk or workshop covering Umbraco at a conference or meetup. The approval of the expenses depends on the topic covered, location, and size of the event, as well as the budget allocated by Umbraco HQ.

Annual visit and dedicated events - The teams’ members are annually invited to a 2-day visit to Umbraco HQ in Denmark. Additionally, Umbraco HQ will set up regular virtual events to share news and information with the different teams.

Every year, selected Community Teams visit Umbraco HQ for two days of collaboration. We meet face-to-face to explore ongoing projects, exchange ideas, and shape the future of Umbraco.
